National “Do Not Call” Registry

West Town Savings Bank also supports the National Do Not Call Registry, and has established procedures to comply with the regulations governing the registry and telemarketing activities. To avoid unwanted calls from telemarketers, you may have your phone number added to the National Do Not Call Registry by calling 1-888-382-1222 or register at www.donotcall.gov. Once you have registered, your phone number registration will be effective for five years. It will be illegal for most telemarketers to call you, and you will be able to file a complaint if a telemarketer does call you. The website www.donotcall.gov provides information about filing a complaint. Be aware that while this will stop most telephone calls, you may still receive calls from businesses where you are a currently an active customer due to legal exemptions such as an “existing business relationship”, and/or “pre-existing personal relationship” with the customer.
